Have you ever read a caption or an email and thought “Well, that was well written!”?
I know that I have, several times. As an entrepreneur, I’ve even kept a few and researched how to make my own emails better.
Well at the time I had no clue that many of those amazing emails and captions I was reading were curated by a professional copywriter. Not the person who was sending the email.
Copywriting isn’t easy either, they have to make us feel like it’s coming straight from the brand that we’re expecting to hear from. They also have to make that brand happy with the messaging that’s going out to their audience.
It’s a lot of work, so imagine balancing a copywriting business with motherhood and being a woman in general. That’s what Tara, founder of Ms. Methodical does on a daily basis.
But Tara wasn’t always a copywriter. Like many women Tara went through a variety of careers and businesses that led her back to her passion of writing. Pre-COVID she ran an in house daycare. Prior to that she was working as a legal administrative assistant, something that she hated but was good at. It certainly wasn’t her passion.
Thanks to an amazing coach Tara came to the realization that she could use her passion for writing and start her own business. What’s better than making a living doing something you LOVE!
Nothing, well not when we’re talking about careers.
However, what is better, is laughing with her partner and 3 children ages 27, 22 and 5. One of her favorite things to do with her family is goof around and make one another laugh.
Quality time with her family, was actually the driving force behind Tara building Ms. Methodical, which was named by her 5 year old son. With COVID she knew that an at home daycare was a breeding ground for germs, and no longer the solution to be able to stay at home with her son. But with writing not only does she get to soak up the time with her family, when she is working she’s enjoying it.
What stood out to me the most is that Tara is always learning and developing her craft. She has taken several courses from the top copywriters out there. Why? All because she strives to provide her clients, whom she loves, with the absolute best service possible.
Tara gets to work with mom coaches and loves the quirkiness of some of her clients as it allows her to tap more into her creative side. Learning about their mission and delivering it an effective and creative way is what she excels at.
If you’ve ever thought about hiring a copywriter, or starting a copywriting brand. Connect with Tara and watch her first interview on Youtube. There she shares a couple of resources that she’s used to successfully launch her business.
